Something I Learned This Week
Something I learned about this week are "com" words. These are words include complete, comments, company, complex, and many others. I feel like our class (7th grade) are a little to old for spelling quizzes and other stuff like that. It turns out, though, even if we are in 7th grade we still make spelling errors. Some people miss the two m's and two t's in committee, for example. Everyone knows that there are two e's at the end for sure.

Google, Apple, and Microsoft are battling to make products specifically for students. On Tuesday, a lower priced version of the Surface and a special version of the Windows 10 was announced by Microsoft. This laptop is thin and is said to last up to fourteen hours. It is compatible with the Surface Pen and Surface Dial, so if you have those your set. They say that it is meant to be an alternative to Apple's MacBooks, which are already popular in most classrooms. The laptop will be released in June with a price of $999. Little of you probably heard about the Chormebook made by Google. This laptop was an unexpected hit in classrooms and can cost as little as $199! I also mentioned a special version of the Windows 10. Not only is this directed towards students, but also teachers. The operating system allows the teacher to limit the apps students can download and locks their settings. Have fun with that teachers ッ.
This will be one of the longest battles that tech companies will do. The reason being that school is where kids/teens get to decide what they like. So, if a student already likes Apple products, the possibility of the person switching over to Microsoft or Google is low.

Something I learned this week
I learned about bullying. Specifically on gay people. There was a video my whole class watched earlier this week. It was about a young boy (he's grown up now) who, I think, went to Ashland High School. He started to notice that everyone around him realized that he was gay. He was being called names and being pushed against the locker. However, it got a lot worse. He started be beat down to the ground, people would spit on him and much more. He finally decided that he doesn't want to be there anymore. So he ran away from home. This made his parents worry. They looked all over for him, and eventually they did. He went back hoping to realize everyone would forget who he was and just act normal. But, they didn't. The bullying happened as soon as he got on the bus. For the very first time in history, this was brought to court. Yeah, you just read that. Court. Can you believe that?!? The bullying was so bad, it had to be brought to court. The guy won his case. Everything was resolved and he felt great about it.
something i learned this week
Something I learned this week was actually on the Titanic. My class and I do something called frontrowed. This is a program our teacher uses to give short reading assignments and answer questions based on the story that we were given. And this wee the story was about the Titanic. By now I'm pretty sure you know what the Titanic is. If not, It's ok because I'm going to tell you what I learned about it. Or, if you don't want to read this and you would rather search it up then go ahead and do that. Now, Moving on. The Titanic was the biggest ship of during the time it was built. I couldn't remember its exact height and length but if you have ever seen it, you it's pretty big. This boat was supposed to carry people from England to New York. Sadly, this didn't happen. The captain just had to be a dumb person to let this happen. He was warned that there would be some icebergs in the direction they were going. Since the ship was too big, he assumed they would be fine if they bumped into one. But, that was a bad idea. The Titanic soon crashed into an iceberg and the ship snapped in two. Many people died that day. I guess you can say it is never safe to assume things even though how tough you are.

On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security assured Senate Democrats that he doesn't intend to separate mothers and their children on the border. Kelly then met with Senate Democrats on Wednesday afternoon for more than an hour on Capitol Hill to discuss the administration's immigration policy, a meeting that some members left in "frustration" but others called "positive."
something i have learned this week
Something that I learned this week were about irregular verbs. This is where the past tense of a verb is not formed by adding the usual -ed ending. Some examples are sing, drive, and write. Of course, there are plenty more, I just feel really lazy to type them all. So, I will put a link at the bottom of this blog to direct you to a list full of these as well as an image to the top left of the screen. My class were assigned to do notes as well as do homework in our grammar workbook.

As of this blog post, Texas is being overrun by at least 2.5 million wild hogs. They damage, crops, farms, lawns, as well as internet and phone cables. The damage they cause can cost up to $50 million dollars a year. It is said that they might use poison to solve this problem, because hunting at least 75,000 hogs each year, looks like it hasn't affected the hog invasion. Going back to the poison. It is called Kaput Feral Hog Lure. The poison contains a substance called warfarin, which acts as a blood thinner in humans, but kills pigs.

something i learned this week
Something that my class worked on was on pronouns. We learned the different types of pronouns such as , subject pronoun, interrogative pronouns, possessive pronouns, and more. A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. The most common ones are, I, me, we, he, she, you, and it. There are a lot more pronouns than this. So, this whole entire week was all about pronouns. We then had a test on Thursday on all the different types of pronouns our teacher taught us. But, pronouns isn't the only thing we did this week. We also had a poetry project. I'll talk about that and how tough it was to balance that and my pronoun test in the next blog (hopefully).

Have you ever heard about Heart of a Samurai ? If not, it is a historical fiction book written by Margi Preus. It is about the first Japanese boy to come to America. His name was Manjiro. He had stayed there for ten years or so, before returning back to Japan. While he was there he made a friend, his name was Terry. He also fell in love with a person named Catherine. Although their love didn't last long, (because Manjiro went back to Japan) they both loved each other back. Anyway, I just finished the book and it told me a lot of information about the first Japanese boy to come to America. Especialy because I went to Japan for my winter break in 2016. If you are interested click this link to learn more about the novel.

This week was Trump's first few days in the white house. He was able to sign a lot of bills, which included a bill to build a wall on the Mexican border and immigration bills. According to CNN, Trump is considering 20% tax on imports from Mexico to pay for a southern border wall. However, he is still considering other options.
something i learned in class (1-19-17)
Something I learned in class was actually during a field trip. So not in class this time. We had a field trip to the California Science Center. While we were there the first thing we did was learn how to build a roller coaster. Since it was a science center I thought that I was going to make a 3d model on the computer and test it out. But, we didn't. Instead, we used a rubber track, some pegs that you stick through holes in the wall, and four different kinds of balls (rubber, wooden, plastic, and ping pong). I had fun building that roller coaster with my team.

On this day Obama bade the people of America farewell. Around eight years ago he inspired Americans to embrace political change with the mantra "yes we can." He then revived the spirit and idealism of his 2008 campaign in a nostalgic, sometimes emotional final address to the nation from his hometown of Chigago. He bade them farewell on Tuesday after a historic, tumultuous presidency with the words "yes we did."

A 7.8 earthquake just hit close to the Solomon islands. Since this has been a 7.8 earthquake there is a possibilty that a tsunami generated and could be detructive on coastal areas. The earthquake hit less than 30 kilometers off the island of Makira -- and 70 kilometers southwest of the city of Kirakira on that island -- about 4:38 a.m. local time Friday (12:38 p.m. ET Thursday).

something i learned in class (11-30-16)
During my ELA class my teacher was talking about adjectives. We have been stuck on this lesson for quite a while becuse we don't get that much time to study grammar. But, when we get the chance, we cover a lot. She talked a lot about adjectives and differant types of adjectives. There is an adjective clause which is just a group of words that have a subject and predicate. An adjective phrase is a group of words that that describe a noun or pronoun in a sentence.

A little late on this one but, we have a new president!!! His name is Donald Trump. However, Obama is still ours for a the rest of the year. Trump wont be in the White house till January. So, we still have some time until Trump is officially our President. But, when he does I hope that God will lead him in the right direction and that the choices he makes will be the right one for the country.
something i learned in class (11-4-16)
Something that I learned in my ELA class this week was how to read a poem correctly. We discussed the different steps and we were given some examples. Also, something that did in my ELA class was a Saint project where everyone has to dress up as a certain Saint and search the Saint's history. Then the whole middle school will gather into one big room where we get to interview each other and see how we dressed up.
Current event
In just a couple of hours this will no longer be a current event (so please don't blame me if you're reading this after it is already done). As of now Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in their final face off or presidential debate. Honestly I still think that Trump won't be a good president, but at the same time I just really don't care. I mean I haven't been keeping up with the debates so I don't know if he canceled his stupid wall idea. But, if he didn't do that yet, then he is just an idiot, because that wall will do nothing positive. Instead people from California who want to visit Mexico will be a risk. Same thing for people in Mexico who want to visit California. I just don't really want him to be president. I would rather have Hillary.
Something i learned in class
Since I can't memorize anything that I learned in my ELA class this week, I will talk about something I learned last week.
Something that I learned last week was about object of a preposition. This was one of the easiest things I learned last week. Now of course some time has passed, so that means I already had a test on this, including other things, such as direct objects, indirect objects, subject complement, etc. Out of all of these other things that I learned through out last week, this was one of the easiest in ELA class. I had not a lot of fun doing it, but I enjoyed it more than the rest.

Yet another current event (9-29-16)
This current event will be about Trump (again) and his message to America: No fat chicks. Now for the girl viewers i really hope this doesn't start to insult you. If it does then stop reading. Anyway, this is the message America said to him: That kind of crass sexism may have sold tabloids in the '90s, but it loses elections in a more feminist, body-positive 2016. Now I don"t really understand what reply that was but, I will just say my own opinion on this. I don't know what Trump will turn our county into. First, he will build a useless wall (he may have a good reason, but think about it) on the boarder of Mexico and the U.S. Now, he is being picky by saying, "i don't want any fat chicks. Just by seeing and reading this I don"t like him at all. He will waste huge amounts of money just to build a useless wall on the boarder. The people from Mexico will probably just be taking planes which could fly over the wall, but might be too risky. I recently went to cancun which is located in Mexico. So, if Trump does get elected as president and builds a wall, I can't go their anymore. Maybe the wall won't be as big, but regardless I think it's a very useless idea and should be gone. Now, Trump is also complaining about fat women, my response to this would be: So what. I mean maybe he has seen fat women literally everywhere he goes or travels and it's just getting on his nerve. But anyway, all in all I don't what Donald trump is thinking or where he keeps on getting this ideas.
something i learned in class (9-22-16)
In this blog I will talk about something I learned in my ELA class. I learned about Nouns as Objects and Object Complements. Now to all the older people this may seem like a weird thing, that I'm learning in 7th grade. It is just a review. The whole class is pretty familiar with this stuff. There were other things that I learned in class but this was the only thing I remembered that I can write about.
Another thing that is currently going on (9-14-16)
As far as I am concerned, it looks like Trump does not want to release his tax returns. Due to a vote it is said that 64% do care about his tax returns or want to know why he hasn't released them yet. Also, CNN has discovered at least three years, 1978, 1979, and 1984 where Trump paid $0 to federal income tax. Other documents show another two years, 1991 and 1993, where Trump paid little to no income tax at all. Although it looks like Trump is willing to make a deal. "In the meantime, Clinton has like 33,000 emails that she deleted. When is she going to release her emails, she probably knows how to find it. Let her release her emails and I'll release my tax returns immediately." - Trump.
One thing that is currently Going on (9-7-16)
Well, one thing that you need to keep in mind whenever you read my blogs is that it will have a very strange beginning (like now). So, please be aware. One thing that is currently going on in my life is that I am watching anime. To be even more specific the genres include action, romance, fantasy and more. the anime that I am currently watching is called Sousei no Onmyouji (Twin Star Exorcists). It is currently an ongoing anime about a boy(Rokuro) and girl(Benio) who are exorcists. They exorcise these things called Kegare. They are said to be the most powerful young exorcists. But keep in mind, they are only 14. The reason why the anime is called Twin Star Exorcists is because, well, first off there is a group called The Twelve Guardians who surpass Rokuro and Benio. In that group there is the leader, and leader says that Rokuro and Benio have to marry each other and give birth to the Miko. Here is the thing, Rokuro and Benio hate each other(well now that the story progressed further.... they don't hate each other that much). This Miko is said to be the one that will permanently end the war with the Kegare. Well I really hope I didn't gross anyone out reading this but really it's a good anime.
Here is a link to the anime. Go check it out!
